Referee - Albert Eadon

Lee Brennans Hattrick ensured maximum points for promotion contenders the Stakesby Arms at the Showfield, despite been second best to their opponents for long periods of the game.
Ian Smith had a chance inside the first couple of minutes to give the home side the lead but his shot was well saved by the stand in away keeper. Newlands began to control the game as the home side were sloppy and struggled to get any rhythm and it was no suprise when they lead on 25 minutes when a long ball down the right was picked up and crossed in for a simple tap in past Fish for 1-0.
Stakesby then started to play a bit and were rewarded when Hoggarth crossed and Smith flicked on for Brennan to tap home to level things up at 1-1.
Fish then made two point blank saves as the Arms struggled into the break level at 1-1.
The second half saw Stakesby much more compettiive and despite never been at their best they took the lead when Ian Smith headed home Brennans corner on 61 minutes.
The away side then levelled again when a chip from 20 yards beat Fish for 2-2.
Brennan then took centre stage and restored the home sides lead when he burst down the right, took ont he defender, rounded the keeper and beat the defender on the line for 3-2 with 15 minutes remaining.
The game was sewn up 7 minutes later when a Headlam corner was punched clear straight to Brennan who struck sweetly on the half volley for 4-2 and his hattrick to seal a hard fought wina nd promotion firmly in their sights.
