Stakesby got back to winning ways against a much imrpoved Ganton side with a 3-1 win at a boggy Showfield. Ganton started the better but faild to turn posession into chances, and it was the home side who snatched the lead when Hoggarths crossfield pass found Lee brennan who squared for top scorer Ian Smith to tap home from 5 yards for 1-0 on 20 minutes.
Stakesby began to dominate and went 2-0 up when a Brennan corner was met at the far post by Steele who nodded home from 6 yards to send the home team firmly in command at the break.
The second half saw Ganton rally as they tried to find a way back into the game, but Stakesby should have wrapped the game up as Smith and Brennan had excellant chances to increase the lead, and this would prove a turning point as ganton grabbed a goal with 20 minutes remaining as a deflected shot looped over Fish and into the net for 2-1.
Ganton threw men forward in an attempt to grab an equaliser and were undone when Smith raced clear from halfway line and through the bog to slot home cooly past the impressive away keeper and hand the Arms the points and a much needed win in only their 2nd game in 2 months.
